THE POSITION

Mechanically inclined, the Field Service Technician travels to our customers throughout Canada and the USA to install and troubleshoot our patented life saving technology. You enjoy travelling and thinking on your feet to ensure our customers’ needs are addressed. You are outgoing, dedicated, and are customer focused.  You will be undertaking customer support tasks, completing on-site installations, repairs, and maintenance, and ensuring proper task management so that all is performed in a timely and effective manner.

HOW YOU WILL BE MAKING AN IMPACT

  • Perform on site installations of our illuminated school bus sign and fully illuminated stop arm.
  • Conduct basic troubleshooting of installed equipment and provide detailed service reports and recommendations on repairs and upgrades.
  • Perform warranty repairs at the Winnipeg facility.

WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU REQUIRE

  • Knowledge and experience with electronic component identification and IPC610 standards.
  • Willingness to travel up to 6 months a year, primarily to the USA.
  • Possess mechanical and technical acumen.
  • Proficient use of power and hand tools and electrical diagnostic equipment.
  • Good computer and report writing skills.
  • Ability to work unsupervised in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good manual dexterity.
  • Electronics assembly background is an asset.
  • Work well under pressure and under tight timelines.
  • Experience with fabrication using basic hand tools, power tools, and machinery.
  • Knowledge of production documentation and mechanical and electrical assemblies.
  • An energetic, diligent work ethic and able to work with little supervision.
